On March 9, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and members of the Government's Working Group No.2 inspected the construction progress of the North-South Expressway component projects, Bai Vot -Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi-Vung Ang, and Vung Ang-Bung.

Reporting to the deputy prime minister on the construction progress of the projects, the representative of the Thang Long Project Management Board said that, to date, the Ham Nghi-Vung Ang component project has completed 84.2% of the construction volume, while the Bai Vot-Ham Nghi component project has reached 80% of the plan.
Currently, due to unfavourable weather and heavy rain, the final asphalt paving stage has been temporarily suspended. The construction units are striving to complete these two component projects before April 30, 2025. Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung highly appreciated the efforts of Ha Tinh Province, the Project Management Board and consulting, supervision and construction units in the process of coordinating and speeding up the project implementation progress.
Thanks to the good work of site clearance, timely supply of materials, and development of a reasonable and realistic construction plan, the project progress has been exceeding the set plan, creating trust and spreading power while contributing to promoting economic growth in recent time.
The deputy prime minister noted that in the coming time, when the weather conditions are favourable, the units need to mobilise maximum human resources and means, speed up the construction progress to compensate for the volume interrupted due to the impact of the weather. Along with that, the units need to strictly comply with the supervision and construction procedures and regulations, ensuring the quality of the project.
Regarding the proposal to continue implementing phase 2 of the project to promote the advantages of human resources, machinery, land, and available raw materials, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung requested relevant ministries, branches, and units to fundamentally study resources, needs, and guaranteed conditions, thereby proposing reasonable and economical solutions to submit to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
